Get Involved

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life in Northern Virginia by providing accessible and affordable professional ballet performances, educational outreach to the community and the highest level of training to the serious student.

Our work has been recognized in the local press and by “The Washington Post.” This attention helps contribute to the Manassas/Prince William County area becoming known as a regional arts/tourist destination. Manassas Ballet Theatre is, as the Washington Post said, “another boon to the spurt of growth in (Manassas).”

Volunteer Opportunities

Crew- Needed at stage rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and performance days.  Load and unload truck.  Set up props/stage for performance.  Assist with scene changes.  Strike post-show.  Help to construct and paint sets.

Costumes (Pre-Production)- Pull costumes from storage room at MBA.  Help with fittings for dancers.  Help to sew on decoration, make alterations, or create new costumes.  Ensure name labels are on costumes.  Help keep costumes organized on racks for dress rehearsals and shows.  Transport costumes to Hylton.

Costumes (Post-Production)- Clean costumes, transport costumes back to MBA and put costumes back into storage room.  Ensure costumes are neat and organized.

Food Concessions- Set up food and drink stations and cooler.  Sell refreshments pre-show and at intermission.  Put away concessions post-performance.  Transport concessions to and from Hylton.

MBT Concessions- Transport concessions to Hylton.  Set up concessions tables.  Sell concessions in the lobby pre-show and during intermissions at the performance.  Tear down concessions table after show and help transport back to studio.
