Professional Division

 

The professional division is for those students wanting training to prepare for either a college major in dance and/or a professional dance career.  Placement within the Professional Division is by invitation only from the Academy Director.

Any student interested in the Professional Division should contact the office.

Professional division students are eligible for auditioning for Corps de Ballet roles in MBT productions, are entitled to compete in the Youth America Grand Prix Competition, and may also apply for student assistant teaching positions with the Manassas Ballet Academy.

All Professional Division students must abide by the following policies:

1. Enrollment in a minimum number of ballet classes per week as described:

Ballet III- Three

Ballet IV- Four

Ballet V- Five

Ballet VI- Five

Ballet VII- Six

Ballet VIII- Six

(These are only the minimum required, more are offered.)

2. Enrollment in Yoga, Character, and Modern classes, as well as 1 of the following: Lyrical, Jazz, Variations or Pas De Deux

3. Consistent attendance in all classes throughout the year.

4. Maintenance of your body in ballet performance condition to the satisfaction of the Artistic Director and your teachers.

5. To always have a positive and professional attitude towards Manassas Ballet Academy, your instructor, director and fellow students at all times.

Students in the professional division will be assessed by the instructors throughout the year as needed. Assessment will culminate in a final exam class in June.
