2008 Recipients of Seefeldt Awards for
Arts Excellence Announced
(Manassas, VA) – Four individuals, one arts
organization and one area business were honored at the 2008 Arts Alive
Gala for their contributions to the cultural arts in Prince William
County, Manassas and Manassas Park. During the September 19th
gala, they received a 2008 Seefeldt Award for Arts Excellence, the
area’s only community-wide awards for the cultural arts which are
presented by the Prince William County Park Authority Arts Council.
Among the winners of this year’s Seefeldt Awards
for Arts Excellence is:
- Amy Grant Wolfe, Artistic Director of
the Manassas Ballet Theatre, received the 2008 Seefeldt Pioneer
Award. The Pioneer Award is not presented every year—only as
merited by stellar achievement over time. Amy Wolfe has overseen the
growth of the Manassas Ballet Theatre from a small company to the
largest ballet company in Northern Virginia and the second largest
in Virginia. The Manassas Ballet Theatre now includes its own
orchestra to provide live accompaniment at public performances, the
Manassas Ballet Theatre Academy to train top students, and an
educational outreach program in local schools.
MBT was honored by receiving the Excellence in Business Award for the
Non Profit arena from the Prince William Greater Manassas Chamber of
Commerce this year.
